About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This position would encompass multiple sectors, including mining, oil and gas, and rail. The successful candidate will plan, design, and oversee civil engineering projects, such as industrial solid waste landfills, wastewater collection and treatment systems and impoundments, environmental restoration projects, channels, levees, drainage systems, stormwater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, roads, and other civil/environmental aspects of infrastructure. Work will entail a mixture of engineering design, permitting, proposal and report writing, and construction-phase field engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Registered Professional Engineer, and ability to obtain reciprocity in western states such as Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona.
• 7+ years of related experience
• Ability to work independently and to mentor junior staff

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience supporting mining, utilities, or pipeline protection projects.
• Prior experience developing stormwater pollution prevention plans; erosion and sediment control plans; and spill protection control, and counter measure plans.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS)

Responsibilities

• Development and planning of hydraulic modeling/calculations
• Erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout
• Earthwork site design
• Permit/construction-level drawings and details
• Preparing technical specifications and report writing for civil and environmental permitting
• Interface directly with clients and contractors and manage all aspects of project delivery utilizing Arcadis resources
• Conduct field assignments, including assisting in the field with construction and inspections
