Position: Civil Engineer We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team. This senior-level role is responsible for leading civil engineering design and drafting, preparing project documentation, mentoring junior staff, and supporting projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate brings strong technical capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program (or approved equivalent).
  • 9–12+ years of relevant civil engineering experience, depending on education and licensure path.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States.
  • Active and up-to-date NCEES record.
  • Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and hydrology/hydraulics software.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and lead portions of complex engineering projects.
  • Ability to travel and attend client or company meetings as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely climb ladders or scaffolding during site visits.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in varying weather and site conditions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Pre-employment drug test, background check, and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering design and drafting for site design, grading, roadway, hydrology, and related project elements.
  • Prepare reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
  • Conduct field services, including surveys, inspections, and construction-phase support.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior civil engineering staff in design and software use.
  • Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D and hydrology/hydraulics software for design accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, surveyors, contractors, regulatory agencies, and clients.
  • Lead or support project planning, concept development, and fee generation for assigned projects.
  • Review drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports prepared by others.
  • Assist with marketing efforts and participate in client interactions to support new business development.
  • Provide construction observations and prepare technical reports based on field findings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, UFC, DoD, VA criteria, and industry standards.
  • Support the development of project schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
