About The Position

Craig A. Smith & Associates, LLC (CAS) is a well-established civil engineering and surveying firm with over 45 years of service across South Florida. CAS is looking to hire a Civil Engineering Candidate having the ability to efficiently plan and organize their workload with their team, demonstrate success working with a team of professionals, a commitment to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic. Experience in water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection are needed. Experience in stormwater design and management is a plus. Candidate shall work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting and construction oversight while working in a project team environment. Planning, design, and construction management of infrastructure projects focusing on water and wastewater projects but could include other infrastructure projects. Projects may include the following: Wastewater Conveyance and Pump Stations; Water Supply; Water Distribution and Storage; Master planning services including hydraulic modeling, and more. Candidate would contribute to projects including collecting existing utility data; performing modeling and simulation; site grading; water distribution system; sanitary sewer collection system; drainage analysis; roadway alignment; pavement marking; signage; and erosion control. Prepare project design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other design software is a plus. Develop project specific detail drawings. Calculate project construction quantity estimates. Preparation of technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks. Coordinate with team members and client representatives. Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and or construction support. Project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closeout. Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
E.I.T./F.E. Certification is a must.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Must be Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to travel to job sites.
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug testing.
Fluent in English.

Nice To Haves

10+ years of relevant experience is preferred but less experienced candidates will be considered.
Experience on utility, drainage, and roadway projects.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
Excellent technical writing skills.
