This opportunity is onsite in Sheridan, WY, United States. #LI-Onsite The Role Wood is seeking an Civil Engineer in training to join its Operations Americas Oil and Gas business in Sheridan, WY. The Civil Engineer in training will assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects under the guidance of licensed engineers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 0–1 year of professional experience (ideal for recent graduates).
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and basic design principles.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Interest in Oil and Gas industry standards or hydrology modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare site plans and plat packets for oil and gas permitting.
  • Ensure all civil engineering designs and construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Produce designs/calculations, complete plans and permit applications, and coordinate with reviewing agencies.
  • Perform construction administration and field observations during construction projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during construction phases.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external team members.
