About The Position

As a mid-level Electrical Engineer in the Oil & Gas group, you will be responsible for performing engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer in a manner that provides the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget. Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 / year The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
  • Experience: 2 – 5 years of relevant engineering or field experience
  • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and high voltage power systems – Open to previous experience in Distribution, Transmission, and/or Substation engineering
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, PLSCADD, and/or Pole Loading analysis software
  • Power system modeling software such as EasyPower, Milsoft, ETAP and/or SKM
  • Ability to travel periodically across states for field work as needed
  • Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design of all aspects of electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications.
  • Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonic analysis and other related studies.
  • Employee should create a simple hand check to quantify the computer aided results
  • Develop protective relay settings.
  • Set, test, wire, and install relaying and control systems.
  • Program, install, and test SCADA and PLC systems
  • Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including specifications, RFIs, studies
  • Perform equipment and relay field testing and start-up and commissioning services
  • Provide field assistance and troubleshooting
  • Checking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required
  • Understanding and experience with applicable Codes and Standards such as NEC and NESC
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings
  • Team Member is responsible for managing their own work schedule with input from their supervisor and completing assigned tasks.
  • Team Member should identify discrepancies in assigned work and bring to attention of supervisor or engineer responsible for the project in a timely manner.
  • Team Member’s work product should be self-checked in a manner that is suitable for review by the supervisor or engineer responsible for the project.
