Job Description: Crawford is seeking a talented Civil Engineer III in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) project. The EAA project consists of primarily heavy civil construction. Examples of work includes clearing, grubbing, excavation, cutoff walls, embankment dams, canal filling/backfilling, canal construction, flood control gates, pump stations, and associated electrical works. The Civil Engineer III provides quality assurance services and expertise specific to at least one of the following areas: earthwork, handling of hazardous materials, data management, water management, aggregate processing, concrete placement, and testing, FDOT regulations, LEED guidelines, structural, construction management, among other activities related to the civil engineering career focused on general and heavy construction. Responsibilities include delivery, modeling, evaluation, analysis, and management of spatially referenced data obtained from terrestrial, marine, airborne, and satellite-based sensors in support of planning, design, and construction of civil works projects. In addition, the Civil Engineer III shall make decisions on necessity for design changes in relation to construction status from the standpoint of feasibility, economy, and standard practices. Initiates and designs modifications, including technical descriptions not involving major revisions of large scope to plans and specifications. Reviews for adequacy, proposed revisions, and effect on construction with any appropriate design recommendations to correct design deficiencies and/or field conditions, modification of methods to accommodate technological changes of special systems, changes desired by using agency and as requested by contractors.
