DESCRIPTION Michael Baker is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer with years of progressive experience in transportation and roadway design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OpenRoads Designer and a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects. This role involves leading design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.

  • Lead and manage roadway design projects from concept through final design and construction documentation.
  • Utilize OpenRoads Designer for geometric design, corridor modeling, and plan production.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, and design drawings.
  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and internal teams to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Conduct quality control reviews and ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., AASHTO, DOT).
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Support proposal development and contribute to project scoping and budgeting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on transportation and roadway design.
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer is required.
  • Strong understanding of roadway design standards and practices.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other design software is a plus.
