About The Position

Amentum is currently searching for a Civil Engineer 3 to work in our Englewood, CO office. The Civil Engineer 3 will perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or equivalent education).
  • At least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent
  • Passed Fundament of Engineering (FE) Exam
  • Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others.
  • Good communications and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • In-depth knowledge using AutoCAD with Civil 3D.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory codes and standards.
  • Working knowledge with commercially available hydraulic and hydrology software.
  • In-depth knowledge designing site drainage and storm water control systems.
  • Working knowledge of the design of underground utilities.
  • Working knowledge and expertise in Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to prepare various civil engineering calculations and drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering Registration.
  • Master of Science degree in civil engineering.
  • Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
  • Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
  • Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
