About The Position

As a Senior Citizen Developer, you will be an advanced hands-on developer within the Marketing Technology team, responsible for building and optimizing complex marketing automation solutions. This role partners closely with the Product Owner/Architect to contribute technical expertise during solution design and then lead the development and execution of those solutions across the marketing technology stack. You will bring deep experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, and supporting platforms, with strong advanced HTML/CSS development skills and the ability to solve complex technical challenges at scale. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now and in the future.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, Email Studio, and data extensions.
Strong experience with Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot), including forms, landing pages, emails, automation rules, completion actions, and lead nurturing.
Advanced HTML/CSS development skills for email and landing page development, including: Modular and reusable template architecture Dynamic content and personalization Cross-client and cross-browser compatibility Accessibility best practices (WCAG)
Strong SQL skills for complex segmentation, data transformations, and automation use cases within Marketing Cloud.
Experience designing and implementing audience segmentation, data models, and data extensions aligned to enterprise data architecture.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex platform and data issues and perform root cause analysis across systems.
7+ years of hands-on experience in marketing technology or marketing automation roles, with advanced, production-level development responsibility.

Nice To Haves

Salesforce certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Developer, Pardot Specialist) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Contribute technical expertise during solution design by advising on feasibility, complexity, and development approach in partnership with the Product Owner/Architect.
Develop and implement complex customer journeys, automations, and lifecycle campaigns within Marketing Cloud Engagement and Account Engagement.
Design, build, and maintain advanced, modular HTML/CSS templates for emails, landing pages, and preference centers, including dynamic content, personalization, and cross-client compatibility.
Develop and optimize Automation Studio solutions, including advanced SQL queries, data transformations, and orchestration for complex use cases.
Implement sophisticated audience segmentation and data extension strategies aligned with approved data architecture.
Build and enhance MCAE assets (forms, landing pages, emails) with custom styling and behavior to support lead capture and nurturing.
Configure and enhance chatbot and conversational experiences, supporting complex routing, integrations, and data capture.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex development and platform issues, perform root cause analysis and implement durable solutions.
Establish and maintain reusable components, code snippets, and development patterns to improve team efficiency and consistency.
Provide hands-on technical mentorship and code reviews for Citizen Developer and Citizen Developer Jr. team members.
Ensure solutions meet performance, accessibility, security, and quality standards.
Stay current with Salesforce releases and evolving development best practices, proactively applying improvements where appropriate.
