The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) is one of the largest agencies in Kentucky state government, with nearly 6,500 full- and part-time employees located across the Commonwealth focused on improving the lives and health of Kentuckians. The Office of Inspector General (OIG) performs many varied functions for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. OIG has six Divisions, Division of Regulated Child Care, Division of Health Care, Certificate of Need, KY Health Information Exchange, Division of Telehealth and Division of Audits and Investigations. These Divisions cover a wide variety of job tasks and duties in varied settings throughout Kentucky, which include inspecting and licensing childcare and healthcare facilities and services, and conducting investigations of complaints in those facilities, as well as conducting Medicaid fraud and other types of complaints and investigations for the Cabinet. The Division of Regulated Child Care (DRCC) is responsible for licensing and certification of child-care providers, as well as residential child caring facilities and child placing agencies. DRCC also investigates complaints against these facilities, ensuring that proper regulatory action is in place. This Division plays an intricate part in the health, safety, and welfare of Kentucky's children. This position provides assistance to the public regarding allegations of regulatory violations identified in a registered/certified child-care home, licensed center, residential treatment programs including institutions, group homes, and crisis stabilization. Guides casework and acts as liaison for the public and Child Care services. Specializes in providing oversight of the public complaint process. This position reports to an office in Frankfort (Franklin Co) KY.
