About The Position

Provide tutoring in IT and select computer science courses at designated times. Additionally, offers individual instruction and coaching to supplement classroom learning. Assist with grading and other tasks related to supporting professors and instructors. We offer tutoring for 17 different courses and expect our tutors to assist students at various stages of their learning journey.

Requirements

• Students may only have 5 open job applications at a time.
• Ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.
• Must have taken and received a A- or better in two or more of the following courses IT 280, IT 224 renamed to IT 124 CS 101 IT 320 IT 327 IS 350 renamed to CS 250
• 6 Months General Work Experience

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
• Teach students to study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.
• Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments.
• Provide private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance, improve occupational skills, or prepare for academic or occupational tests.
• Assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions.
• Validate course materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must exemplify the University Honor Code, including the dress and grooming principles and expectations.
