Cilium Consultant (Kubernetes/Talos)
About The Position

Their client is a globally recognized consumer goods company from Denmark, known for innovation, quality, and digital transformation. They are seeking a hands-on Cilium Consultant to support a complex Kubernetes environment, focusing on networking and CNI optimization. The role involves reviewing and adapting existing Cilium configurations to fit specific network architectures, ensuring stability and performance in dynamic environments. This is a highly technical, execution-focused role where expertise will directly impact platform reliability and scalability.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Cilium (minimum 1 year with Cilium).
- Experience working with Talos (primary requirement).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and operations.
- Experience running and maintaining Cilium in production environments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with OpenShift
- Knowledge of OVN
- Familiarity with EgressIP solutions
- Experience in volatile or complex network environments
- Exposure to AWS / EKS
- Understanding of BGP and eBPF
- Experience with Grafana
Responsibilities
- Analyse and review the current Cilium configuration in a Talos-based Kubernetes setup.
- Adapt and optimise Cilium to align with specific network architecture requirements.
- Document architectural decisions using ADRs (Architecture Decision Records) in Markdown.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure stable and efficient network operations.
- Provide clear, direct, and constructive technical feedback.
