The Continuous Improvement (CI) Coordinator supports the execution and sustainment of operational excellence initiatives within the facility. This is a hands-on role requiring active presence on the production floor, partnering with operations to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. The CI Coordinator leads improvement workshops, develops standardized work, supports Lean initiatives, and ensures continuous improvement efforts are sustained through auditing and follow-up.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or structured operational environment.
  • Practical experience participating in or supporting Kaizen events, including planning and post-event follow-up.
  • Experience supporting implementation and sustainment of 5S management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
  • Basic photo or video editing skills to develop professional training materials.
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement and process optimization.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree.
  • Lean or Six Sigma training (Yellow Belt or higher preferred).
  • Experience with basic Lean tools (e.g., DMAIC exposure, visual management, standardized work).
  • Ability to create visual dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Continuous Improvement Manager in driving Lean and operational excellence initiatives across the facility.
  • Lead and coordinate 5S events and Preventive Maintenance workshops to improve workplace organization and efficiency.
  • Develop, write, and update clear and user-friendly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and One Point Lessons (OPLs).
  • Maintain 5S audit scorecards, improvement dashboards, and visual management boards.
  • Conduct regular Gemba walks and audits to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure sustainability of standards.
  • Track action items from Kaizen events and improvement projects to ensure timely completion and measurable results.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to CI initiatives.
  • Support onboarding and training of team members on Lean standards, visual management, and standardized work practices.
  • Develop visual training materials, including annotated photos and short-form instructional videos, to support knowledge retention.
