About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Chrome Technician in Richmond, Virginia. The Chrome Technician is responsible for producing high quality polish and/or chrome application repairs to hydraulic cylinder components. Seeking candidates with previous experience in a related position; High school diploma or GED, preferred.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of chemical processes and transformations that occur.
  • Knowledge of chemical interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
  • Must be able to use and read calibrated tools.
  • Must be able to operate equipment required to perform this job.
  • Must have good trouble shooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software.
  • Must be able to complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders.
  • Excellent customer satisfaction skills.
  • Must be able to handle high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to occasionally operate heavy machinery.
  • Must be able to additional hours to meet business and customer demands.
  • Must be able to positively interact with supervisor and to understand problems and concerns relating to a repair.
  • Requires good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work as an integral part of a team.
