About The Position

Set up, adjust, and operate plating machines to produce parts to print and standard work specifications. Operate sage gantry system. Change, clean and build contacts. Monitor and control chrome levels. Change machine settings as needed. Operate multiple plating machines at the same time. Operate overhead hoist. Ensure bars are being processed in the correct sequence. Change programs as required. Assist in solving problems related to your machine. Inspect parts per print and standard work specifications. Confirm all tube rams have been prepped for chrome processing correctly. Complete all post checks to ensure rams conform to print specifications by using micrometer. Scrap out parts.

Requirements

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Read and understand amp. setting charts, read blueprints, basic math (including fractions, metrics, and decimals) and read micrometers.
  • Have basic knowledge of chemicals, read, remember, reason, analyze, and problem solving.
  • Per 8 hr. shift (stand 3 hrs., walk 5 hrs.), frequently (bend), occasionally (work above chest level and work with arms outstretched). Frequent lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 30 lbs., occasionally from 31 to 50 lbs.). Must be able to hear, see, balance, do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment that includes exposure to heat, alkaline solutions, chrome, dust, shavings, vibrations, grease, solvents, and oil. Must be able to safely work in areas of lift truck traffic. Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operate machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc. Must be able to manipulate stairs frequently.
