Vocal/Choral Intensive Choral Section Leader
About The Position
The Boston Conservatory Vocal/Choral Intensive is a two-week summer program for pre-college singers that serves as a recruitment tool for our undergraduate voice programs. Instruction in this program is primarily served by current Conservatory faculty, with support from graduate students for teaching small sections of music theory/sight-singing, individual voice coachings, as well as serving in the choirs. Choral section leaders will serve as performers in the VCI Choral Ensemble, and will attend all choral rehearsals. Duties may include assisting VCI Choral Director Dr. Stephen Spinelli with sectional rehearsals and other responsibilities as needed.Performers must be available for the Grand Finale performance and reception, as well as all evening rehearsals.
Requirements
- All candidates must be current graduate students at Boston Conservatory.
- Candidates must have experience in either voice teaching, theory teaching, or choral singing.
- Candidates must be able to establish safe learning environments where students can thrive, and serve as ambassadors for our Conservatory voice programs.
