About The Position

This position provides support for the effective administration of the County’s Concealed Handgun Licensing (CHL) Program by providing clerical and administrative support that ensures accurate, efficient, and confidential processing of program services and positive interactions with the public.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, AND
  • Three (3) years specialized training and experience in the clerical and/or administrative field or any satisfactory combination of experience and training.
  • Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain required certification and clearance for access to CJIS, NICS, and LEDS.
  • Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the state of Oregon and demonstrate safe driving practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of criminal and civil legal terminology and law enforcement processes and procedures.
  • Working experience in the criminal justice field and/or two-year degree in criminal justice or related field.
  • Knowledge of specific PC word processing software utilized by the county and previous experience in an administrative position with a county department is desirable.
  • Experience in NIBRS (National Incident Based Report System).
  • Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
