About The Position

Come join Team Atlantis! We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook in Chinese Cuisine to join the culinary team at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Buffet. You will play a vital role in overseeing the Chinese cuisine section of our buffet, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Your expertise in cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Cook specializing in Chinese cuisine, with a deep understanding of various Asian cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients.
  • Ability to develop innovative and unique Asian dishes while maintaining authenticity and aligning with the buffet's guidelines and Atlantis Casino Resort Spa's culinary vision.
  • Keen eye for detail in food presentation, ensuring dishes are visually appealing and appetizing.
  • Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet the demanding requirements of the buffet service.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with team members and guests effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands, work under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices, including HACCP principles, to ensure compliance in a high-volume buffet setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots, pans, and trays.
  • Comfortable working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds safely.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of the time.
  • Must be able to move freely in confined spaces.
  • Must adhere to all appearance standards, including but not limited to no "visible" tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair and nail colors.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present a diverse range of dishes, including but not limited to Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese cuisine, while maintaining consistency and excellence in taste.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to ensure efficient production and timely service.
  • Utilize various cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, sautéing, baking, and roasting to create flavorful and visually appealing dishes.
  • Adjust cooking methods and timings based on ingredient freshness and guest preferences.
  • Execute menu items with precision, maintaining consistency in taste, appearance, and portion size.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or excesses to the sous chef or kitchen manager.
  • Taste and evaluate dishes for flavor, seasoning, and quality before they are served to guests.
  • Implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure the highest standard of dishes.
  • Work closely with fellow cooks, kitchen staff, and sous chefs to coordinate cooking times and maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
  • Participate in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff members.
  • Adhere to strict hygiene, health, and safety standards, including proper use of equipment, utensils, and personal protective equipment.
  • Keep workstations clean and organized, practicing good sanitation habits throughout the shift.
  • Manage multiple orders simultaneously, ensuring timely completion while upholding quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen inventory, rotating stock, and minimizing food waste.
  • Other duties as assigned my management.
