About The Position

Mobile Air & Power Rentals provides innovative cooling, heating, dehumidification, and power solutions to customers nationwide. Their rental fleet includes portable air conditioners, chillers, heaters, and generators that support critical operations across a wide range of industries. They are seeking Chiller Technicians at all levels (I, II, III) to support the maintenance, testing, installation, and repair of their large-tonnage chiller and HVAC rental fleet. Responsibilities and expectations increase based on experience level.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification required
  • 1–2+ years of HVAC or mechanical experience (Entry Level Chiller Tech I)
  • 3–7+ years of HVAC experience with chiller exposure (Chiller Technician II)
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on large-tonnage chiller experience (Senior Chiller Technician III)
  • Strong knowledge of refrigerant systems and HVAC best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
  • Forklift certification required
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs using safe lifting practices

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC or Refrigeration degree or technical certificate preferred for higher-level roles
  • ERP or rental software proficiency preferred
  • Crane operation experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, test, and repair chiller and large-tonnage air conditioning equipment
  • Assist with refurbishment, reconditioning, and preparation of rental equipment
  • Perform equipment start-ups and pre-deployment testing
  • Complete service, testing, and repair documentation accurately
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Support depot, shop, and field operations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist senior technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and testing (Chiller Technician I)
  • Support fabrication and customization of rental equipment (Chiller Technician I)
  • Operate shop equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and saws with training and certification (Chiller Technician I)
  • Occasional travel to customer sites during peak seasons (Chiller Technician I)
  • Independently diagnose and repair chiller and HVAC equipment (Chiller Technician II)
  • Support turnkey installations and job-site start-ups (Chiller Technician II)
  • Travel to customer sites for complex installations and service work (Chiller Technician II)
  • Identify and recommend process improvements related to safety, quality, and efficiency (Chiller Technician II)
  • Serve as technical expert for chiller and large-tonnage HVAC equipment (Chiller Technician III)
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and complex repairs (Chiller Technician III)
  • Lead pre-deployment testing and quality assurance (Chiller Technician III)
  • Mentor and train junior technicians and service technicians (Chiller Technician III)
  • Support fleet upgrades, remote monitoring initiatives, and turnkey installations (Chiller Technician III)
