About The Position

As a Children’s Intervention Specialist, you will be working in the community to help provide stabilization and support services to youth and their families during crisis situations. Competencies: The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide supportive counseling for youth and their families in the program. Must demonstrate the ability to provide crisis intervention and response 24/7 when assigned. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain contact with the youth, family, and their support system. Must demonstrate the ability to produce a progress note in the DAP format with 100% accuracy. Must demonstrate the ability to generate and maintain appropriate documentation as noted by the biweekly chart review with at least 98% accuracy. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively plan and implement treatment recommendations in conjunction with DYFS, the case manager, and other community partners that lead to an appropriate discharge from the program. Must demonstrate the ability to access local networks of services as dictated by the current ICP. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain a professional relationship with youth, family, their support system, and all service providers. Must participate in and pass all company mandatory training as scheduled. Must demonstrate basic computer knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a behavioral health or related human services field, such as social work, counseling or psychology and have a minimum of one (1) year related field work experience; OR Master's (MA/MS) degree in a behavioral health or related human service field
  • All positions require a valid driver’s license in good standing and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Receive referrals from the CSA through a “warm line” at the office
  • Respond to the location of the crisis within 1 hour
  • Diffuse the crisis using crisis intervention strategies
  • Complete assessment tool at the beginning and end of service and transmit to the CSA using the electronic record
  • Develop Individual Crisis Plan with the family and obtain approval from Coordinator and CSA
  • Maintain caseload and monitor stabilization services
  • Work with the Coordinator and other team members to coordinate care for all clients served
  • Maintain documentation with 98% accuracy, and within the required time frame
  • Participate in team meetings and staff meetings
  • Participate in the rotating on call schedule with the ability to respond to the site of the crisis within 1 hour
  • Attend state required sponsored trainings as scheduled
