About The Position

Provide supervision to children (ages 6 months to 12 years old) whose parent/sibling(s) have medical appointments at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) or at Hugo V. Mendoza Family Care Center. Operating hours for the Children’s Waiting Room are Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm at WBAMC and from 1pm – 4:30pm at Mendoza.

Requirements

Work experience with children.
An understanding of military family challenges.
Experience preparing and developing age-appropriate activities.
Reliable transportation is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Provide a variety of activities for infants to 12 years old
Model effective behavior for parents/guardians and volunteers
Interact with children; provide a nurturing environment
Communicate to Programs Manager and POC at Hospital any issues or concerns in CWR
Follow all Child Abuse Reporting procedures when necessary
Supervise all volunteers
Ensure that all CWR policies are followed
Open and close the center
Maintain safe and clean child-watch area
Ensure new parents/guardians fill out proper registration forms and waivers
Ensure each parent/guardian signs child in and out
Update registration files and parent/guardian information
Ensure all records are kept locked in filing cabinet when not in use
Report unsafe conditions to the Programs Manager and/or Executive Director
Provide parent/guardian and Director with written incident or injury report involving any child
Clean all toys with Cavi Wipes or spray upon closing of center
Keep toys and equipment clean and sanitary and in good working condition
Inform Administrative Assistant about needed supplies
Other Duties as assigned by Branch Programs Manager
