About The Position

Connetquot Public Library is seeking a Children and Family Services Associate to join our Children and Family Services Department. This position offers the opportunity to be part of an evolving library environment where service, education, technology, and community engagement come together to shape how families experience the library.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a welcoming, service focused approach
• Comfortable using everyday technology including email, social media, and mobile devices
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment
• Genuine interest in working with children and families in a public library setting

Nice To Haves

• degree in Education or related field preferred
• Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or service setting strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Support librarians in planning, preparing, and delivering programs and events for children from infancy through school age
• Provide welcoming and reliable information and referral assistance at the Children and Family Services desk
• Maintain working knowledge of library programs, outreach efforts, and community services
• Assist with school visits, outreach activities, and in library events
• Help connect families with both physical and digital library resources
• Contribute to a positive, team oriented environment focused on service to children and caregivers
• Support the library’s mission of encouraging curiosity, learning, and lifelong engagement with reading and discovery
