Child Life Coordinator - Child Life Services - Day Shift
About The Position
A caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for all pediatric in- and outpatients. Our Coordinator provides care for these patients through therapeutic use of self, patient activities, hospital environment adaptation, and education of other health care team members regarding child life departmental functions, children’s growth and development, and reactions to hospital stressors. The Child Life Coordinator also facilitates child life activities including budget maintenance, staff scheduling, employee and student evaluations, practicum and internship supervision, and continued professional relationships with other departments. In addition, community outreach is also included in this role.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Development or a related field
- Eligible to set for the Child Life Certification exam, if not a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS)
- Performs assessments and goal-directed plans of care to facilitate patient outcomes.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of self and services
- Identifies educational goals for patients, family, staff members, the community, and other hospital departments
- Provides a safe, therapeutic, individualized physical and psychosocial environment for patients and their families
Nice To Haves
- Degree emphasis in Child Life with a professional hospital internship
- Previous pediatric volunteer experience
- Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST)
