Observes responses of children and families and reports these observations to Child Life Specialist s . Supervises and trains volunteers. Responsibilities The Child Life Assistant is responsible for assisting Child Life Specialist with inpatient planning, implementing, and evaluating activities and interactions for the playroom and at the bedside, to support development, meet emotional needs and provide diversion. CLA is also responsible for promoting a family centered care environment in the healthcare center, observing responses of children and families and reporting observations to Child Life Specialist.
