About The Position

Provides safe efficient age specific Child Life Assistant care to patients/families using CLA interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Requirements

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
• Previous experience working with children (Required)
• Thorough knowledge of Child Life Assistant process and practice. (Required proficiency)
• Uses a wide variety of nonmedical equipment to meet patient needs. (Required proficiency)

• Associate's Degree (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Patient/family care/assessment
• Collaboration/education of Healthcare team/volunteers/students
• Orientation/education for patients/families regarding division/hospital services
• Actively participates in the quality improvement process
• Involved in learning and self-improvement
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
