About The Position

The mission of the Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Program is to foster a Christ-centered community by providing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and relationship-based learning environment. The program is designed to support the individual growth and needs of children from birth through five years of age within our parish school and child development center, nurturing their spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. In support of this mission, Blessed Sacrament is currently seeking a qualified Center Director to provide visionary leadership and operational oversight for the Early Childhood Program. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of child care licensing requirements in the State of Texas, as well as demonstrated experience in financial management, marketing, and enrollment growth. The Center Director will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining program excellence, and promoting a sustainable and thriving early childhood community. The Center Director reports directly to the Principal and serves as a member of the school’s leadership team, collaborating closely with faculty, staff, and parish leadership to advance the mission and strategic goals of Blessed Sacrament School.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
Three years of experience as a classroom teacher of young children
Three to five successful years’ experience managing childcare
Reliable transportation
Valid driver's license
Valid vehicle insurance
Thorough understanding of childcare center operations
Strong organizational, communication, public relations, computer, and interpersonal skills
Ability to coordinate center functions
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Knowledge and implementation of Texas childcare guidelines and state licensing
Comprehensive knowledge and proven success in implementing programs for children based on developmentally appropriate practices
Accepts and respects differences in children, parents, and coworkers
Ability to manage a budget

Certified as a Director of a child care center per the Texas Health and Human Services preferred

Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization, including but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors' names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.

Maintain, at all times, high-quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices
Supervise all staff members of the childcare center, including substitute staff.
Oversee the hiring process and orientation for all new staff.
Provide accurate and meaningful annual performance evaluations for all childcare staff.
Develop a budget for the center and establish controls to ensure that the center adheres to the budget.
Ensure that the program is cost-effective, and funds are managed prudently.
Oversee the day-to-day functions of the childcare center and manage staff.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of the childcare center.
Assure consistent compliance with all Texas DFPS Minimum Standards, including maintenance of annual fire, health, and other inspections.
Coordinate the annual licensing of the childcare center with DFPS.
Oversee the maintenance of files according to DFPS requirements.
Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with parents, providing parent education training, assistance, and support as needed.
Provide reliable, accurate, and timely information about the childcare center to interested parties.
Assist in other projects as assigned by the Principal.
Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and Child Development Center.
Follow the attendance policy as assigned by the location.
Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisor.
Attend professional development seminars to maintain an understanding of the current best practices of curriculum and administrative functions of child development programs.
Oversee the training and professional development of all childcare staff.
Articulate the center’s mission to employees and other stakeholders and solicit support in realizing the mission.
Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
Represent the center in a professional, courteous, and positive manner at all times.
Promote a positive, caring climate for learning for staff, students, and parents.
Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Effectively communicate with staff, students, and their families.
Perform all duties as assigned.
