About The Position

Responsible for day to day operations of the Meskwaki child care. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies for the facility at all times. Develop and maintain annual budget and child care program to meet the needs of the Meskwaki community. Recruit, supervise, develop assignments and duties, and coordinate training, education, prevention for all child care staff. Maintain appropriate staffing levels and scheduling for hours of operation. Maintain electronic record keeping and submit monthly reporting to the Executive Office. Maintain appropriate licensure standards for facility and staff. Implement education curricula and prevention activities that meet federal, state, and/or tribal standards. Develop and implement quality assurance and quality improvement standards to all program goals and objectives. Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children. Ensure the facility meets all federal, state, and/or tribal laws and regulations. Ensure that the center maintains eligibility to participate in the state's Quality Rating System. Ensure that the center maintains eligibility to participate in the state's Child Care Assistance program. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of program policies as needed. Assist with classroom and kitchen duties, when necessary. Assist with classroom management, when necessary. Attend local, state, regional, and national child care meetings/training when deemed appropriate. Maintain positive environment for children, families, and employees. Maintain positive parent/child relationships through effective communication channels. Ensure center staff are engaged in following the federal, state, and tribal program standards. Assist with developing, planning, and providing training to teachers. Evaluate staff and daycare program concerning program goals and scope of work. Compile data and reports as requested. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Early Childhood with continuing education or preferred Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field with Early Childhood.
  • Must be willing to complete more education and training in field of Early Childhood Education and Management (30 hours training required annually).
  • Be in good health, have a current TB test, and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid and Mandatory Reporter training.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to travel to attend workshops, seminars and meetings.
  • Must respect Meskwaki cultural beliefs.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete extensive background investigation.

  • Prefer experience working the Native Americans.
