About The Position

Minnetonka Community Education is excited to welcome enthusiastic individuals to join our team! We have openings in our Explorers summer program for Child Care Behavior Assistants. Child Care Behavior Assistants will assist Program Supervisors in planning and implementing programs while working closely with individual students to ensure optimal learning. Your Role Will Include: Provide personalized support to students with additional needs during extracurricular and educational activities, fostering their social and academic growth. Develop and implement creative strategies to promote inclusive play and accommodate diverse needs within group activities. Collaborate with supervisors and district staff to ensure the safety and success of all children. Establish positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, building staff, and school district staff.

Requirements

  • Age 18+, high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with school age children with special needs or behavior challenges in a school or structured program setting.
  • Worked with students needing behavioral interventions and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both adults and students.
  • Ability to take direction and work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive attitude.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven punctuality and responsibility.
  • Comfort in leading groups of children.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting student instruction in the classroom (preferred).
  • Experience with CPI-certified techniques for crisis prevention and intervention, ensuring student and staff safety and social emotional learning (preferred).
