About The Position

This position administers Child Care Aware grant programs across the NE District (17 counties), including Regional Grants (Regions 3, 5, 7E) and Parent Aware Quality Improvement Grants. This role ensures compliant, timely, and effective distribution of funds and supports providers throughout the grant lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Two years of work experience in business administration, accounting, public administration, finance, or a related field.
  • An associate degree may substitute for 6 months of experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, including monitoring expenditures, making fiscal decisions, and preparing or implementing budget revisions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply public program and grant requirements, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial and programmatic reporting.
  • Proven ability to compile, analyze, and report data related to grant obligations, expenditures, and compliance metrics.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to create, maintain, and analyze financial spreadsheets, tracking systems, and related documentation.
  • Demonstrated administrative and office proficiency, including effective use of computer applications, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to support meetings, trainings, and collaborative work.
  • Valid driver’s license to conform to MnSCU vehicle use criteria and consent to a motor vehicle records check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in business administration, accounting, public administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience writing, reviewing, administering, or monitoring grants, including support for applications, amendments, or reporting.
  • Knowledge of Child Care Aware of Minnesota, Parent Aware, and/or federal, state, or local government grant programs, including program requirements and accountability standards.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying program or fiscal compliance issues, assessing risk, and recommending or supporting corrective actions consistent with grant and program requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including program staff, partners, funders, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain technical or regulatory information in a clear, understandable manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
