About The Position

This is a full-time, grant funded position in the Child Care department. The Child Care Aide 2 works under close supervision of the Assistant Director, and Lead Teacher. The Child Care Aide 2 is responsible for implementing program, goals and classroom objectives, and performing related work as required for children six (6) weeks to five (5) years old.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Pass background check
Obtain a physical prior to employment
Applicants are required to obtain CDA within 6 months

Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential/Early Childhood Certificate/ 18 Credit Hours of Early Childhood Courses
Knowledge of recreational activities associates with creative play
Knowledge of instructional methods, materials and program operations for six (6) to five (5) years.
Knowledge of psychological and biological needs of children.
Ability to make decisions both within or without guidance or established procedure.
Ability to react quickly and calmly in stressful situations.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public, children and other employees
Ability to lift children 40 pounds, if needed.

Responsibilities

Direct activities for children in the program.
Supervise large and small groups of children.
Assist children with self-help skills.
Work with individual children on specific tasks.
Develop and plan daily activities.
Assists with the preparation and presentation of educational materials.
Regularly, record, evaluate, assess and update children’s class attendance, behavior, development, etc.
Complete and keep current all required certifications and training.
Attend professional development seminars and parent related activities.
Assist with serving meals and snacks.
May perform other duties as assigned.
