About The Position

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School is seeking a qualified and mission-driven Child Care Administrator to lead and oversee the operations of our licensed child care program. The Child Care Administrator ensures compliance with all State of Michigan Child Care Licensing regulations while fostering a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages toddler through school-age. Position Details: -30 – 40 hours per week with flexibility between 7 am and 6 pm Monday – Friday. -Reports to the School Principal; collaborates closely with staff and families

Requirements

  • Must meet at least one of the Michigan Licensing Rule R 400.8113 Program Director qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR -Associate degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development + 2 years of experience OR -Montessori credential + 2 years of experience OR -Michigan teaching certificate with child development endorsement / relevant experience OR -High school diploma/GED + 12 semester hours in a child-related field + 480 hours of experience
  • Candidate must meet documentation requirements and MiRegistry compliance before hire.
  • Strong skills in communication, organization, and collaboration.
  • Support of the Catholic faith.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules, including maintaining safe and developmentally appropriate environments in all child care rooms.
  • Schedule and monitor staffing to ensure daily ratio requirements are consistently met.
  • Provide ongoing professional development and support to child care staff.
  • Develop, implement, and update program policies, procedures, and handbooks to meet state standards and school expectations.
  • Oversee all aspects of safety, supervision, health practices, emergency procedures, and overall care standards.
  • Maintain all required records and documentation, including staff files, attendance, training records, and incident reports.
  • Ensure all state-required postings and the Licensing Notebook are current and accessible.
  • Provide daily oversight of programming while collaborating with lead teachers to maintain a structured, faith-filled environment that supports learning, prayer, and play.
  • Offer leadership and guidance to staff, including conducting required annual evaluations in collaboration with the principal.
  • Foster open, professional communication with families and maintain a positive, nurturing atmosphere.
  • Coordinate enrollment, scheduling, billing communication, and family updates to ensure smooth program operations.
