Requirements

  • Must be a Medical Doctor, Board-certified (or Board-eligible and working toward certification) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with current Texas License.
  • Must uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity.
  • Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education to maintain professional license.
  • Must maintain good standing with professional licensing board.
  • Credentialed and privileged according to Legacy's standards and practices.
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to all populations served.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments and provide treatment for patients in assigned clinics.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled hours and actively engage with patients.
  • Meet or exceed productivity requirements as set by leadership.
  • Develop and maintain clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols.
  • Provide availability by phone during and outside regular clinic hours as needed.
  • Assist in the review and development of patient educational materials.
  • Supervise healthcare students for educational purposes.
  • Develop and maintain a program for clinical quality assurance.
  • Coordinate care with non-physician providers and Behavioral Health Coordinators.
  • Consult with colleagues and specialists as appropriate.
  • Participate in meetings, the Performance Improvement Program, and peer reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
