Chief Technology Officer - (NYC)
About The Position
The Role We are hiring a Chief Technology Officer to own Thera’s technical vision and execution. This is a senior leadership role responsible for architecture, engineering execution, team management, and long term technical strategy. You will manage and grow a team of engineers, partner closely with the CEO and ensure that product development, payments infrastructure, and internal systems scale with the business. This role is fully in office in New York City, working side by side with leadership five days a week. What You Will Own Overall technical strategy and architecture across the Thera platform Engineering execution and delivery across payroll, payments, and new product lines Management and development of a growing engineering team starting with three or more engineers Technical decision making around security, reliability, scalability, and compliance Cross functional execution with product, operations, and compliance Technical project planning, prioritization, and delivery timelines Hiring, onboarding, and performance management for engineering What You Will Build and Oversee Core systems that power global payroll and money movement New products across Spend, Docs, Cash, and Accounting Internal tooling and infrastructure that supports operations and compliance Platform improvements that reduce risk and increase velocity About Thera Thera is building the financial OS for modern SMBs. Requirements
- Three to 8 plus years of experience building and scaling production systems
- Prior experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, or senior engineering leader
- Proven track record managing engineers and leading technical teams
- Strong systems thinking and comfort making high impact architectural decisions
- Highly organized and comfortable owning execution and project management
- Able to balance speed with reliability in a regulated fintech environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Typescript and Java or Kotlin is preferred
