About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer to lead enterprise‑level engineering for the FLITE+ program at Los Angeles Air Force Base. This is a pivotal opportunity to serve as the senior technical authority for the Missile Warning enterprise, shaping system architecture, driving technical performance, and ensuring disciplined engineering execution across the FORGE environment. In this role, you will define and protect the technical integrity of the enterprise. You will guide system architecture, maintain technical baselines, and lead a multi‑disciplinary engineering team responsible for delivering resilient, integrated, and mission‑aligned capabilities. You will work closely with government and industry partners to ensure the FORGE enterprise adheres to rigorous engineering processes across development, production, test, and sustainment. You will also serve as a key stakeholder in major engineering reviews and configuration control boards, ensuring horizontal integration of best engineering practices across all FORGE Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Through continuous coordination with the government SEIT lead, you will maintain alignment of technical baselines and ensure the enterprise evolves with mission needs. Anticipated start date: 1 April 2026

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience supporting Missile Warning systems at the enterprise level.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a senior technical authority, systems engineering leader, and trusted advisor in complex mission environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chief Systems Engineer and definitive technical authority for enterprise‑wide engineering.
  • Maintain and drive system architecture, technical baselines, and overall system performance.
  • Lead and mentor a multi‑disciplinary engineering team; oversee technical execution across the program.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure mission needs and objectives are fully addressed.
  • Guide Missile Warning system‑level requirements development, hardware/software design, and verification and validation activities.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in major engineering reviews, readiness reviews, and configuration control boards.
  • Ensure adherence to disciplined engineering processes across development, production, test, and sustainment activities.
  • Maintain cognizance over technical activities within FORGE IPTs and ensure horizontal integration of best engineering practices.
  • Coordinate regularly with the government SEIT lead to maintain consistent, aligned technical baselines across the enterprise.
