About The Position

Under the direction of the Administrative Director the Chief Radiation Therapist performs administrative and supervisory duties and technical work in the Radiation Therapy Department. Patient population ranges from young adult through late adulthood. Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make AMH the hospital of choice for patients and employees. Oversees and guides the Section of Radiation Oncology in a manner that assures compliance with regulations set forth by federal, state and other regulatory/accrediting agencies. These efforts will assist in providing quality, efficient services, thereby enhancing the public perception of the department. Responsible for all scheduling, training, evaluation, hiring, discipline and discharge of all Radiation Oncology Section staff in order to ensure ongoing department operations. Participates in development of short-term and long-term budgetary and operating goals for the Radiation Oncology Section. Once developed and in place, monitors variances to ensure cost-effective operations. Evaluates new equipment available on the market and prepares budget statements, cost analysis and justification figures to contain spending. Organizes, schedules and conducts education programs, thereby providing staff with information regarding technical advances and changes in hospital/departmental polices and procedures, along with health and safety issues. While complying with department policies and procedures, performs radiation oncology procedures to assist in the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited school of radiation therapy technology required.
  • Successful radiation therapy practice with supervisory experience required.
  • T - Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association required
  • Adequate experience as determined by medical director.
