Summary of Responsibilities: This high-level strategic leadership position leads our retail operations as well as other support functions to drive both short- and long-term strategic growth, improved profitability, customer experience and organizational efficiency across the company. This includes multi-unit retail operations led by Regional Operations Manager, District and Store Managers of our current 42 convenience stores.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of ten years of executive level experience as the COO or equivalent. Proven track record of ability to lead multifunctional organizations.
  • Skills: Strong senior level operational, analytical, and leadership skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Technical expertise: Experience with retail technology, including Point of Sale (POS) systems, inventory management systems, and data analytics tools. Ability to drive team performance by implementing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Growth Leadership: In partnership with the CEO formulate and lead companywide growth strategies including acquisitions, site development, remodels and expansions.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, profitability, and market share. Oversee senior leadership teams for developing and executing the company's overall strategy for all lines of business.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee store operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, inventory management, and sales performance. Drive initiatives to improve store efficiency, manage costs, and conduct on-going evaluations of existing processes and implement improvements as business conditions evolve.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee supply chain, logistics, and inventory management for fuel, food and all merchandise to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and improve supply chain resilience.
  • Customer Experience: Align initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention. Develop and implement customer-centric strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer engagement, loyalty and retention.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Develop and implement talent development programs to ensure succession planning for high potential employees and leadership development within each area of responsibility.
  • Financial Management: Direct and oversee financial adherence to drive profitability, manage budgets, and optimize resources. Develop and implement financial plans to support business strategies. This includes providing direction on management focus for cost management while maintaining a high level of quality across all product lines and services.
  • Digital Transformation Leadership: Lead initiatives to strategically use technology to achieve business goals and drive organization change. Leverage digital tools, data and innovative strategies to enhance productivity and employee and customer experience.
  • Risk and compliance Management: Assess and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
