$150,000 - $175,000

About The Position

About Vessel Vessel is building the future of housing. We combine breakthrough design, advanced manufacturing, and first-principles thinking to tackle one of the world’s most pressing challenges: creating sustainable, attainable housing for all. This isn’t just construction—it’s a complete reimagining of how people live. Backed by Mosaic Ventures and Lennar, the nation’s largest homebuilder, Vessel is rapidly scaling to meet growing demand. We care deeply about every detail—from beauty and durability to efficiency and accessibility—because we believe everyone deserves a thoughtfully made home. The Opportunity Vessel is growing rapidly, with scores of projects in planning, and we’re looking for an exceptional Chief of Staff to partner directly with our Founder & CEO. In this role, you will drive alignment, execution, and operational rigor across the company. You will work across teams to translate strategy into action, ensure key initiatives move forward with speed and clarity, and help the organization scale effectively during a period of rapid growth. This role requires someone who thrives in founder-led environments, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and can seamlessly shift between strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will be a central connector across functions, helping prioritize what matters most and ensuring the CEO’s time and attention are deployed effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience); MBA is strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in consulting, startups, investment, operations, or similar roles
  • Proven ability to operate in highly ambiguous, fast-paced environments and drive outcomes independently
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with a willingness to execute at a tactical level
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward action
  • High level of discretion, judgment, and trustworthiness when handling sensitive information

  • Support strategic decisions on market expansion, project prioritization, partnerships, and capital deployment
  • Optimize the CEO’s time and focus across high-impact areas including fundraising, strategic partnerships (e.g., developers, municipalities, and capital partners), hiring, and product innovation
  • Act as a central execution hub—identifying bottlenecks across projects and functions, unblocking teams, and ensuring accountability at every stage of development and delivery
  • Drive process improvements to help Vessel scale efficiently while maintaining quality and speed
  • Support board and investor communications with clear, data-driven updates
