About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School ( NJMS ), is seeking a board certified academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology at the level of Associate Professor or higher to lead the Ambulatory Care Services. Academic appointment will commensurate with experience and accomplishments. The faculty is highly involved in the education of residents, medical students, health related professionals, and other ancillary personnel in the Department. The practice is fully integrated in the teaching mission of the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School with faculty appointments in the medical school. The scope and breath of the faculty’s clinical activities promote professional interests while covering the clinical needs of the service and the educational mission. In partnership with the Chair of the Department of OB/ GYN , the Chief of Ambulatory Services will be responsible for taking a senior level approach in the day-to-day operations and decision making in our large Ambulatory Care Center. At the University Hospital Ambulatory Care Center, all sub-specialties are present with over 35,000 visits annually. The ACC houses many ambulatory procedures, OB and GYN ultrasound to Newark and the surrounding communities. With the Chief of Service, this Departmental Leader will focus on quality improvements, patient access, billing, and scheduling. This position will be required to oversee residents and participate in an extensive ambulatory clinical trial portfolio, in some cases, leading the trials. New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences ( RBHS ) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. This position is at Rutgers- New Jersey Medical School ( NJMS ) in Newark, NJ. Aligned with Rutgers University–New Brunswick and collaborating university-wide, RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and five centers and institutes that focus on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, advanced biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research. RBHS has recently agreed to a public/private partnership with RWJBarnabas Health, which will broaden the scope and reach to all New Jerseyans.
