About The Position

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CHIEF NURSING OFFICER (CNO)! Your Work Matters How will you make a difference? The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing which includes directing all services provided by the Nursing Services Department. As a member of senior management this position ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the facility's goals and objectives, and actively participates in a leadership role by consulting with facility management in designing and providing total patient care and services. Direct the provision of 24-hour nursing services for the facility. Develop, implement and revise corporate, facility and Nursing Services policies and procedures within the guidelines of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the facility and taking into consideration the recommendations of the CEO, the Medical Director, the Director of Social Services and the nursing staff. Review the progress, quality and effectiveness of all nursing programs. Establish methods for evaluating nursing care practices, formulate plans for new programs and changes to existing programs, and initiate and/or utilize studies and research applicable to the development of nursing services. Consult with the CEO on the development of long and short-term facility projects, goals and objectives of Nursing Services. Establish nursing committees as needed for quality and patient care needs. Strategically solve problems that encompass the larger view of the organization, and establish goals by utilizing an understanding of organizational dynamics in planning and problem solving. Participate in developing, justifying and controlling the annual budget for department personnel, facilities and equipment. Consult with facility management in the development and facilitation of program activities which assure an optimal therapeutic experience for all patients. Ensure all Nursing Services programs maintain current departmental manuals. Direct a system that ensures that individual patients and their families are involved in the development of individualized treatment plans. Maintain an active involvement and awareness of all patient admissions, discharges and transfers. Meet regularly with Program Managers, the Medical Director and program staff to ensure compliance with program goals and objectives. Serve on facility committees and attend meetings as assigned. Act as a behavior model in transmitting clinical and procedural expertise to other nursing staff. Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing; Master's Degree in psychiatric nursing or related field required. Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years experience in nursing administration and/or dedicated leadership experience in psychiatric nursing. Additional Skill Requirements: A thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, Medicare, OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards. Successful completion CPR certification and CPI training to within 30 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures. Requirements
