About The Position

Maintains 24-hour accountability for oversight of the Acute Nursing (including Emergency Department and Obstetrics Department), Surgery, Infusion, Cardiopulmonary, Infection Prevention, Employee Health and Nursing Education. This includes general supervision of the physical environment and budgets for personnel, supplies and equipment. Monitors and ensures compliance with government regulations, general standards of patient care and National Performance Improvement measures. Functions as an integral member of the Hospital's executive management team. Works with Administration (CEO) as a liaison with medical staff and governing body (Board).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Oregon licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Three (3) years previous managerial experience and five (5) or more years' experience delivering clinical nursing experience required.
  • Broad understanding of patient care processes.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of managerial and leadership theory.
  • Cognitive and technical knowledge of various patient types and care.
  • The ability to progressively manage care delivery processes.
  • The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data, and information, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written word using the English language.
  • Must be flexible with work scheduling.
  • Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.
  • Computer literacy or ability to attain same.
  • Able to communicate in an effective manner.
  • Able to lead in a positive manner.
  • Knowledge of government regulations and laws affecting Nursing Department.
  • Demonstrates ability to present professional image for the Hospital.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
  • Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or bachelor's degree in a healthcare/business related field preferred.
  • Master's degree in a healthcare/business related field preferred.
  • Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification desired.
