Role Overview The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for the stability, security, governance, and operational effectiveness of Prime Pensions enterprise technology environment. This role ensures that infrastructure, enterprise systems, data protection, and technology risk management are secure, compliant, resilient, and aligned with regulatory and business requirements. The CIO focuses on running, protecting, and governing the organizations technology foundation, enabling the business and engineering teams to operate securely and reliably at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Enterprise Technology Operations Own the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise infrastructure, including networks, identity/access, and hosting environments Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of all enterprise technology systems Oversee end-user technology, IT service delivery, and operational support functions Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities
  • Cybersecurity & Risk Management Lead the organizations cybersecurity strategy, policies, and controls Ensure protection of client, plan, and enterprise data through robust security practices Oversee threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations Establish and maintain security frameworks aligned with industry standards and best practices
  • Technology Governance & Regulatory Compliance Own compliance with all technology-related regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., ERISA, IRS, DOL, SOC, PCI, ISO, and data privacy standards) Establish and enforce IT governance, risk, and control frameworks Ensure appropriate data protection, retention, and privacy controls are in place Act as primary technology liaison for audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews
  • Enterprise Vendor & Technology Partner Management Own relationships with enterprise IT vendors, managed service providers, infrastructure partners, and security vendors Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, SLAs, and performance expectations Ensure cost-effective, secure, and reliable delivery of enterprise technology services
  • Data Governance & Information Protection Establish and enforce enterprise data governance, classification, and protection standards Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of sensitive data Maintain data integrity, auditability, and regulatory compliance across systems
  • IT Financial & Operational Stewardship Develop and manage the enterprise technology and infrastructure budget Optimize costs related to infrastructure, security, licensing, and IT services while maintaining operational excellence Establish operational metrics for reliability, security posture, and technology risk
  • Enterprise Technology Leadership & Communication Lead IT, infrastructure, and security teams and external partners Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on technology risk, system health, and compliance posture Partner with business and engineering leadership to ensure technology operations enable secure and stable business growth
