About The Position

Assembled is a unified platform that orchestrates human agents and AI for customer support at scale, used by companies like Canva, Etsy, and Robinhood. It offers AI Agents for case resolution, AI Copilot for agent assistance, and AI-powered workforce management. The company is backed by $71M from NEA, Emergence Capital, and Stripe. The Chief Financial Officer will be the first CFO, owning finance end-to-end and partnering with the leadership team on key decisions. This role will address challenges such as redefining pricing architecture (seat-based and usage-based), managing unit economics against evolving AI infrastructure costs, and creating a bundling strategy across the product portfolio. Beyond traditional finance, the CFO will define how finance operates in an AI-native company, emphasizing clean systems (Salesforce, financial stack, Claude agents) to reduce the need for additional headcount, setting a template for other functions.

Requirements

  • Well rounded. You've owned a mix of responsibilities across FP&A, accounting, and more
  • AI-pilled. You're on top of the latest models (Opus vs. Sonnet), implement AI in your day-to-day workflows, and keep your teams on the cutting edge
  • SaaS fluent. You know the drivers of a SaaS business cold. Ideally you've seen $30M $100M
  • Board-facing. You can translate analysis into clean narratives for senior leadership and investors and drive them to clear decisions
  • Hands on. You subscribe to the Nat Friedman-ism that "the cultural prohibition on micromanagement is harmful"

Responsibilities

  • FP&A end-to-end: operating model, unit economics, planning, forecasting, and variance
  • Capital strategy: burn management, cash planning, runway, and decisions across debt, equity, and strategic transactions
  • Operating cadence: month-end close, monthly forecast lock, monthly P&L review, board reporting, and external audit
  • Revenue operations: Salesforce and other key GTM systems, quota and capacity planning, deal desk, and advising on go-to-market strategy
  • Pricing and packaging (co-owned with Product and GTM): seat-based WFM, usage-based Agents, and the bundling strategy across both
  • Team: hire for and lead a finance function that scales with the business
