About The Position

What you will be doing: Serve as a key strategic partner to the President/CEO. Provide executive-level leadership in financial planning, sustainability, and long-term organizational strategy. Oversee all financial operations of the agency, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Supervise the Controller, Accounting, Payroll, and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) teams. Build a high-performing finance department through effective staffing, training, and leadership. Manage and coordinate all budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial analysis functions. Develop and oversee the annual operating budget. Prepare short- and long-range financial plans. Monitor expenditures and revenue performance. Provide detailed budget-to-actual analysis to Program Directors and executive leadership. Ensure all contracted services and grant awards are billed accurately and timely. Forecast additional funding needs and recommend budget adjustments. Serve as the administrative budget controller. Participate in agency-wide strategic planning, program development, and expansion efforts. Work closely with community leaders, external agencies, and stakeholders. Participate in the preparation of budgets for competitive grant proposals. Support contracting and procurement processes. Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and performance standards. Prepare and submit statistical and financial reports to support program compliance. Participate in operational and financial audits. Ensure finance policies and procedures are documented, reviewed annually, and consistently followed. Serve as a resource to the Board of Directors Finance Committee. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on financial and operational matters. Foster a culture of inclusivity and belonging.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.
  • Eight to ten years of supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to articulate large-scale issues affecting the agency and community.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program development, implementation, and management.
  • Ability to professionally represent the agency in all interactions.
  • Healthcare accounting: 7 years (Preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and/or Certified Management Accountant designation highly preferred.
  • Preference for candidates with experience related to nonprofit work and large governmental and MCO contracts.
  • Negotiating with MCOs and payors: 5 years (Preferred).
  • Non-profit accounting: 5 years (Preferred).
