About The Position

Requirements

  • 10 years of upward management experience, preferably within a Community Action Agency or a large nonprofit. Experience with Head Start/Early Head Start Early Childhood Education is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (nonprofit administration, social work, business, or psychology) is required; advanced education is preferred.
  • Proven history of managing multi-million-dollar budgets and navigating complex public/private grant requirements.
  • Passion to empower underprivileged communities, ensuring that every individual has the tools to move from poverty to financial empowerment.
  • The ability to create a strong vision, set strategic direction, and communicate it effectively to staff, board members, and partners.
  • Previous success as an advocate and establishing external relationships with individuals and organizations of influence, including government agencies, civic leaders, partner agencies, and volunteers.
  • Experience and skill in working with a Board of Directors.
  • Knowledge of private and public grant seeking.
  • A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative teams and actively engage with staff.
  • Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.
  • Strong fiscal management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, reporting, and federal and state compliance literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Create a strong, compelling vision for GCCSA and communicate it effectively to staff, the Board of Directors, and community partners.
  • Build a trusting, inclusive culture that results in strong, collaborative, positive teams.
  • Set strategic direction for GCCSA and growth strategies for programs.
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with government agencies, civic leaders, foundations, and other nonprofits to ensure mission objectives.
  • Actively identify and secure new revenue streams to enhance the agency's financial stability.
  • Oversee a complex financial structure, including budget preparation and audit controls, while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
