About The Position

Our client is looking for a hands-on, high-energy Chief Executive Officer to lead the business through its next phase as a newly independent company. This is a rare opportunity to take the helm of a well-established, vertically integrated business with strong technical capabilities and significant upside. As CEO, you will drive overall performance, commercial strategy and financial results. This is not a purely strategic role; you will be deeply engaged in the day-to-day, tackling a high volume of tactical priorities while building toward long term value creation. The mandate is to strengthen the organization, accelerate growth, and position the company for sustained success. The ideal candidate domain knowledge of industrial minerals, with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels. To thrive in this role, you must be an entrepreneurial, low-ego leader who can bring structure where needed, anticipate challenges, and drive initiatives forward with urgency. This is a phenomenal, high-impact opportunity to build your own team, shape the organization, and deliver measurable value in a high-autonomy, low-bureaucracy environment.

Requirements

  • Domain knowledge of industrial minerals required
  • Pricing strategy, product positioning, and market prioritization experience required
  • Full P&L ownership in lower middle market ($30M–$150M) required
  • Track record of driving earnings growth through operational and commercial initiatives required
  • Strategic and hands-on operational leadership experience required

Responsibilities

  • Establish clear operating cadence, KPIs, and accountability across safety, production, service, and financial performance
  • Drive EBITDA and cash flow growth through operational improvements, pricing discipline, and cost optimization
  • Identify and address underperformance across plants, pricing, and operations
  • Partner with ownership to define and execute a focused value creation plan
  • Assess and strengthen the leadership team, retaining top talent while upgrading capabilities
  • Build and enhance the systems, processes, and infrastructure required to scale effectively
  • Partner closely with finance on forecasting, working capital management, and capital allocation
  • Lead and elevate commercial strategy, including pricing, customer engagement, and market expansion
  • Collaborate with operations to improve throughput, yield, quality, and overall plant performance
  • Establish credibility with internal and external stakeholders during a period of transition
