The Chief Estimator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project cost estimating, from conceptual budgets to detailed bids. This senior leader will manage a team of estimators, collaborate with project teams, and ensure competitive, accurate, and strategic proposals that align with company goals. Requirements

• Bachelors degree in construction management or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of estimating and winning large-scale projects ($100M+).
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and market pricing.
• Expertise in estimating software (e.g., Timberline, WinEst, Sage, Cost OS, Excel, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Project Site, Building Connected).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating department, including mentoring and developing staff.
• Oversee preparation of conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates for large-scale projects.
• Review bid documents, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and requirements.
• Develop and implement estimating strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and executives to align estimates with project execution plans.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
• Present estimates and proposals to executive leadership and clients.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and risk management protocols.
