We are seeking a Chief Estimator to lead our estimating efforts across commercial plumbing and HVAC projects. This role is central to developing precise, competitive estimates and supporting project pursuits through collaboration, strategy, and client engagement. The Chief Estimator will also participate in sales presentations and has the opportunity to earn sales commission based on awarded work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial HVAC and plumbing construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Proven success in preparing detailed mechanical estimates for large-scale commercial projects.
  • Experience working directly with project managers, clients, and sales teams.
  • Strong technical understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the estimating team to produce accurate, detailed cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing projects.
  • Oversee all phases of the estimating process for both hard bid and design-build projects.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and executive teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and scope.
  • Participate in client meetings, interviews, and sales presentations to help secure new projects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development efforts and helping to close sales opportunities.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and requirements to identify cost impacts and value opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain estimating procedures, tools, and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Support the preconstruction and business development teams with pricing strategy and project feasibility input.
  • Mentor and develop junior estimators, fostering accuracy, collaboration, and professional growth.
