Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Paid Time Off, Hotel Discounts Position Overview The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall upkeep and functionality of the hotel’s physical building, systems, grounds, and equipment. This leader ensures adherence to brand standards, maintains a safe and efficient operation, and guides a skilled team of maintenance professionals. The ideal candidate is proactive, knowledgeable, and dedicated to protecting the hotel’s assets while supporting an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years facilities management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS), fire-life safety, and PM programs.
  • Ability to multitask and problem-solve under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all engineering operations comply with brand standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Oversee all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire safety, and life-safety systems.
  • Conduct daily property inspections and respond promptly to all maintenance issues.
  • Execute and manage a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program for guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house, and equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise external vendors and contractors when needed.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including labor, supplies, and capital planning.
  • Monitor and control expenses while ensuring proper upkeep of hotel assets.
  • Recommend and support capital improvement projects.
  • Ensure quick response to guest repair requests with minimal disruption.
  • Promote a safe environment for guests and associates through strong knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and execution.
