What You’ll Do Establishes, plans, and administers the overall technology vision, strategy, policies, procedures, and goals for Grand River Hospital District (GRHD). The Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) serves as the senior technology leader, providing strategic direction and operational oversight for all technology functions, including information systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, clinical systems, digital transformation, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Provides day-to-day leadership and management in accordance with GRHD policies, procedures, and applicable laws. The CDIO has direct oversight of the Information Technology department, actively managing system performance, issue resolution, and staff, while maintaining a strategic, enterprise-level focus. Responsible for aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals to improve operational efficiency, enhance patient care, and support long-term growth and innovation. Develops and leads the enterprise-wide technology strategy, including planning, roadmaps, policies, and standards. Oversees all technology systems and infrastructure supporting 600+ users, actively involved in system reliability, issue escalation, and operational decisions. Provides strategic leadership for digital transformation initiatives, leveraging AI, automation, and data-driven technologies to enhance clinical workflows and operational performance. Leads governance, evaluation, implementation, and optimization of AI solutions, ensuring security, compliance, and ethical use. Provides executive oversight of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring stability, optimization, and alignment with clinical and regulatory needs. Partners with clinical and non-clinical leadership to assess technology needs and implement solutions supporting business objectives and patient care. Oversees selection, implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of technology systems, applications, equipment, and vendor relationships. Ensures technology environments meet cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including healthcare data protection standards. Recruits, develops, and leads technology staff; establishes performance expectations; evaluates performance; addresses concerns; and fosters a collaborative culture, maintaining a visible and engaged leadership presence.
