About The Position

Chief Bus Mechanic/Bus Driver QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough knowledge of and experience as a mechanic Proficiency in repair and maintenance of buses, trucks & maintenance equipment Basic knowledge in body repair, welding and fabricating Able to maintain records of all maintenance and work repair Able to maintain high standards of safety and good housekeeping Able to serve as a bus driver when needed Able to respond to transportation related emergencies Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in relevant areas (e.g., brakes, diesel engines, electrical/electronic systems, compressed natural gas, school bus conversion equipment) preferred. Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to school bus operation, vehicle emissions, inspections, and driver qualifications under all OAC 3301.83 codes. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards. Must hold Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B or higher, with School Bus (S), Passenger (P), and Air Brake endorsements. Must hold or be able to obtain Ohio School Bus Operator Certification via pre-service training and in-service requirements under OAC 3301-83.10.
